Model Y531 Packer

Model Y531 packer is a single zone fracturing packer with high pressure ratings and an easy releasing method, it has a circulation path that could wash off debris around the tool during running, after it reaches design depth, the packer could be activated by dropping a ball, and retrieved automatically once the pumping is stopped, which is highly efficient for fracturing operations.

The main components include a circulation port with a sliding sleeve, a set of hydraulic-actuated anchor slips, a sealing combination of 2 common elements and 1 coned element. At the beginning, the sliding sleeve is open, and the coned element is contained by a protecting sleeve, the ball dropped would close the circulation port and push the protecting sleeve downward to reveal the coned element. During pressurized pumping, the anchor slips are pushed outwards to grab the casing and keep the tool in place, the lower element is pressed against the rest 2 elements, expanding all 3 of them to ensure a reliable sealing. When the pumping is stopped, the slips and elements return to their original positions, and the packer could be easily picked up.

The circulation port could be re-opened by pressurizing the annulus, which enables a reverse washing path to prevent the string from getting stuck.
