Model PRHS Packer
Model PRHS Packer is a hydraulic-set production packer. One or multiple packers
could be run in hole along with tubing and set at one time or sequentially. A
hydraulic setting sub is attached below the packer to build up setting pressure
when a setting ball is dropped, once the setting is completed, the ball could
be pushed down through the ball seat to avoid plugging the string. It could be
used for production, fracturing, acidizing, or other purposes when zonal
isolation is required, and is especially suitable for wells with high
inclinations, where mechanical and wire line set packers are not the best
choice.
The
packer is consisted of a set of upper slips, a hydraulic setting module,
sealing element and a set of lower slips. Once the packer is set, the lower
slips will grab the casing wall and hold the packer in place against downward
forces from above the element, while the upper slips will hold the packer
against forces from below, forming a bi-directional grip. The upper slips are
actuated by a differential pressure acting across the elements from below, not
from the pressure within the tubing. This allows the tubing to be plugged below
the packer and the packer will continue to hold differential pressure from
below. Releasing and retrieving is accomplished by an upward pull on the tubing
string.
